Plywood & Timber
Grade-stamped plywood and seasoned teak, under one roof
How to choose
For plywood, start with water. MR suits wardrobes and most bedroom furniture; BWR is the sensible kitchen minimum; BWP or marine grade for wet areas. The grade is stamped on every sheet (IS-303 / IS-710) — check the stamp. Thickness follows the job: 18mm for carcasses and weight-bearing work; 12mm for shelves; 9mm and 6mm for backs and panelling.
For timber, ask how long it must last and whether it will be polished or painted. Sagwan (teak) is the default for main-door frames; Sheesham suits furniture that will be seen; imported hardwoods cover frames on a budget. Insist on seasoned wood — unseasoned timber warps after installation. Bring measurements; we can cut to size.
